Floating right heart thrombi: A pooled analysis of cases reported over the past 10years
The American Journal of Emergency Medicine Oct 25, 2017
Burgos LM, et al. - This study aims to compare the clinical characteristics according to different treatment strategies and to identify predictors of mortality on patients with floating right heart thrombi (FRHTS). As per observations, FRHTS represent a serious form of thromboembolism and require rapid decisions to improve the survival. Anticoagulation as the only strategy seemed insufficient, while, better and similar results were observed with thrombolysis and surgical thrombectomy. Researchers recommended a proper individualization of the risk and benefits of both techniques to choose the most appropriate strategy for the patients.
