Fixation and clinical outcome of uncemented peri-apatite-coated vs cemented total knee arthroplasty: Five-year follow-up of a randomised controlled trial using radiostereometric analysis (RSA)
The Bone & Joint Journal Nov 05, 2017
van Hamersveld KT, et al. - This study entails an evaluation of the tibial component fixation of uncemented peri-apatite (PA)-coated total knee arthroplasties (TKAs) vs cemented TKAs. Findings demonstrated that more overall migration was displayed by the tibial components of PA-coated TKAs vs the tibial components of cemented TKAs. However, in post hoc analysis, it was shown that this difference was caused by higher migration of PA-coated components in the first three months, which was followed by a stable migration pattern. Between the groups, the outcome did not significantly differ, clinically.
