Five year postoperative outcomes of bilateral aphakia and pseudophakia in children upto 2 years of age: A Randomized Clinical Trial

Vasavada AR, et al. - Experts conducted a comparative assessment of complications and visual outcomes after bilateral congenital cataract surgery in children upto 2 years of age with and without primary intraocular lens (IOL) implantation at 5 years follow-up. Although a higher incidence of posterior synechiae was seen in pseudophakic eyes, they noted a comparable incidence of postoperative complications between the groups. Faster visual rehabilitation was seen in pseudophakic group.
