Five year patient outcomes of endovascular abdominal aortic aneurysm repair in the ENDURANT France registry
European Journal of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery Oct 02, 2020
Becquemin JP, Haupert S, Issam F, et al. - Numerous publications from multiple geographic regions reported endovascular repair as the preferred method of treatment for infrarenal abdominal aortic aneurysms with excellent patient outcomes. Researchers sought to report the 5 year outcomes from the ENDURANT France registry which consecutively enrolled 180 patients from 20 French centers starting in 2012. Instructions for use (IFU) were followed in 97.8% (176/180) of patients. In comparison with recent EVAR registries, the Endurant France registry had comparable 5 year outcomes concerning survival, re-intervention, and freedom from endoleak rates but a high sac shrinkage rate. Lower secondary procedure and aneurysm rupture were reported relative to those of (Anevrysme de l'aorte abdominale: Chirurgie versus Endoprothese), the French RCT which included older generation devices. This prospective registry thereby describe favorable 5 year outcomes of the Endurant stent graft used within IFU.
