Five year outcomes of the endurant stent graft for endovascular abdominal aortic aneurysm repair in the ENGAGE Registry
European Journal of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery Jun 28, 2019
Teijink JAW, et al. - Researchers investigated the long-term performance of newer generation stent grafts that have encouraging short and mid-term outcomes via presenting standard endovascular abdominal aortic aneurysm repair outcomes in the ENGAGE registry that included a total of 1263 patients with abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) from March 2009 to April 2011 from 79 centers across 30 countries. Challenging features were reported for a significant proportion of the ENGAGE patients, such as 15.2% presented with an AAA diameter >7 cm, 12.0% with proximal neck lengths <15 mm, and 10.2% with infrarenal neck angles >60°. At five year, freedom from type IA endoleaks was reported in 95.2% and from type III endoleaks in 97.4%. Outcomes supported the sustained safety, efficacy, and durability in this international cohort that is reflective of real-world experience.
