Retina Jun 27, 2018
Fleissig E, et al. - In this retrospective interventional case series study, the researchers assessed the rate of epiretinal membrane (ERM) recurrence in eyes that underwent ERM peeling surgery at least 5 years earlier. This investigation was conducted on 37 subjects operated on for ERM removal with a follow-up of at least 5 years. According to the findings obtained, the recurrence rate of ERM after peeling surgery was reported as being around 5% to 12% and it was 58% in the current study. The authors discovered that visual acuity was unaffected because the recurrent ERM was generally mild.
