McDonald ML, et al. - The factors associated with metastases, prostate cancer-specific mortality, and all-cause mortality were evaluated in pN1 prostate cancer patients. pN1 patients with a first post-operative prostate-specific antigen (PSA) >/= 0.2 ng/ml had a greater likelihood of developing metastases. It was noted that the first post-operative PSA us useful in identifying pN1 patients who harbored distant disease and could aid in secondary treatment decisions.
