The Journal of Pediatrics Oct 19, 2017
Bellatorre A, et al. - This research ascertained if fetal overnutrition arising due to maternal obesity or gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) exhibited a correlation with increased liver fat during adolescence, adjusting for past and current metabolic risk factors. A connection was brought to light between maternal pre-pregnancy obesity with an increased hepatic fat fraction (HFF) in the offspring independent of childhood and adolescent adiposity. in order to analyze the proposition that maternal obesity served as a modifiable risk factor for childhood fatty liver disease, advanced studies were warranted.
