Female reproductive factors and risk of all-cause and cause-specific mortality among women: The Japan Public Health Center-based Prospective Study (JPHC Study)
Annals of Epidemiology Jun 20, 2018
Otsuki S, et al. - Researchers studied the link between reproductive history and mortality from all and major causes among Japanese women, using a Cox proportional hazards regression model adjusted for potential confounders. They found that the factors that were associated with lower risk of all-cause of mortality included being parous, two or three births, breastfeeding, late age at menopause and longer reproductive span. Findings demonstrated that there was a positive association between all-cause mortality and later age at first birth (≥30 years) than early childbearing (≤ 22 years).
