Fecal marker levels as predictors of need for endoscopic balloon dilation in Crohnâs disease patients with anastomotic strictures
World Journal of Gastroenterology Oct 04, 2017
Lopes S, et al. - The accuracy and best cut-off value of fecal calprotectin (FC) and fecal lactoferrin (FL) to predict disease recurrence in asymptomatic patients presenting with anastomotic strictures were evaluated. Among patients with asymptomatic anastomotic stricture, fecal markers were good predictors of CrohnÂs disease (CD) endoscopic recurrence. FC and FL could guide the need for endoscopic balloon dilation (EBD) in this context.
