Feasibility of magnetic seeds for preoperative localization of axillary lymph nodes in breast cancer treatment
American Journal of Roentgenology Jun 14, 2019
Greenwood HI, et al. - In patients with breast cancer, researchers assessed the feasibility of using a magnetic seed system for preoperative localization of axillary lymph nodes. For this retrospective analysis, they included 35 patients (mean age was 56 years). The authors concluded that magseed or endomag [a non-radioactive inducible magnetic seed induced to become a magnet in the operating room under the influence of its detector] localization seems to be a secure, nonradioactive way to precisely localize axillary lymph nodes preoperatively.
