Clinical Interventions in Aging Feb 11, 2018
Liu YB, et al. - Feasibility and safety of laparoscopic hernia repair in elderly patients (≥75 years) were assessed via comparing perioperative outcomes between patients older and younger than 75 years included in this prospective case-matched control study. This is the first comparative cohort study investigating the impact of aging in an Asian hernia population. Findings demonstrated feasibility, as well as safety of laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair in older patients. Furthermore, these subjects had comparable perioperative outcomes to patients <75 years.
