Favorable surgical outcomes of aldosterone-producing adenoma based on lateralization by CT imaging and hypokalemia: A non-AVS-based strategy
International Urology and Nephrology Sep 21, 2017
Li H, et al. - This study entails the assessment of the efficacy of a computed tomography (CT) imaging and clinical characteristics- based strategy on lateralizing origin of excess aldosterone secretion in primary aldosteronism. Findings demonstrated that favorable surgical therapeutic outcomes could be attained without pre-operational adrenal venous sampling (AVS) lateralization in most patients with typical unilateral adrenal macroadenomas, normal contralateral glands and hypokalemia.
