Fatigability and functional performance among older adults with low-normal ankle-brachial index: Cross-sectional findings from the Baltimore Longitudinal Study of Aging
Atherosclerosis Mar 29, 2018
Martinez-Amezcua P, et al. - The link between preclinical ankle-brachial index (ABI) and early markers of fatigue and functional decline was investigated in adults and older from the Baltimore Longitudinal Study of Aging, with normal values of ABI. Lower ABI was shown to be related to poorer physical function and increased fatigability. This finding indicates that early changes in ABI may infer greater risk of functional decline, even among those who may not progress to peripheral artery disease.
