Fatal correlation between YAP1 expression and glioma aggressiveness: Clinical and molecular evidence
Journal of Pathology Jul 26, 2018
Guichet PO, et al. - In the present study, the correlation between YAP1 expression and glioma aggressiveness was explored via examining the expression of YAP1 in 117 clinical samples of glioma described according to the WHO 2016 classification. Researchers, for the first time, showed that YAP1 was tightly linked with glioma molecular subtypes and patient outcome. Data reported that overexpression of YAP1 was sufficient to inhibit the OLIG2 proneural marker, implying it is involved in maintaining the GBM phenotype. Results of this study suggested that YAP1 could be a pertinent predictive biomarker and a possible therapeutic target in glioma.
