Fasting blood glucose and risk of stroke: A dose-response meta-analysis
Clinical Nutrition Nov 05, 2020
Shi H, Ge Y, Wang H, et al. - Researchers performed a dose-response meta-analysis to explore the connection between fasting blood glucose and the risk of stroke by summarizing cohort studies. PubMed and Embase databases have been searched for related studies (until October 2020). Using a random-effect model, a dose-response relationship was determined. Eighteen cohort studies were involved. The sample consisted of 2,555,666 participants. When fasting blood glucose level was 70–100 mg/dL, the incidence of stroke was reduced to its lowest point. Fasting blood glucose was positively linked to the risk of stroke, with a non-linear dose-response relationship.
