Fascin is associated with aggressive behavior and poor outcome in uterine carcinosarcoma
International Journal of Gynecological Cancer Oct 28, 2017
Richmond AM, et al. - A study including patients with uterine carcinosarcoma (UCS), assessed the fascin expression and its association with estrogen receptor (ER) status, clinicopathologic indicators of tumor aggressiveness, and survival outcomes. An aberrant expression of fascin was noted in both elements of UCS, in addition to its relationship with aggressive behavior and worse outcome. Fascin may serve as a target in future therapies as a component of epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) and mediator of invasion.
