Diabetes Therapy Mar 22, 2018
Duan Y, et al. - The objective herein was to investigate the baseline characteristics that could affect the improvement of pancreatic β-cell function and insulin resistance after acarbose therapy in Chinese patients with newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Data exhibited that newly diagnosed T2DM Chinese patients with lower baseline HDL-c and higher HbA1c and SBP values presented with a greater likelihood of achieving improvement in beta cell function. On the other hand, baseline fasting blood glucose and waist circumference served as prominent factors related to improvement in insulin resistance with acarbose therapy.
