Factors predictive of postoperative acute respiratory failure following inpatient sinus surgery
Annals of Allergy, Rhinology, & Laryngology Jun 30, 2018
Burton BN, et al. - Authors defined the risk factors of postoperative acute respiratory failure following inpatient sinus surgery. For evaluating the potential risk factors of acute respiratory failure following inpatient sinus surgery, this is the first study. They noted a probable utility of these risk factors in the risk stratification. Findings suggested an association of pneumonia, bleeding disorder, alcohol dependence, nutritional deficiency, heart failure, paranasal fungal infections, and chronic kidney disease with increased odds of acute respiratory failure; as seen on final multivariable logistic regression analysis.
