Factors influencing vision-related quality of life according to glaucoma severity
Acta Ophthalmologica Oct 05, 2018
Chun YS, et al. - Authors described factors affecting the vision-related quality of life (VRQOL) according to glaucoma severity. They recruited 901 patients with varying stages of glaucoma from the prospectively designed LIGHT (Life Quality of Glaucoma Patients Who Underwent Treatment) study conducted by the Korean Glaucoma Society. In patients with glaucoma, the most influential factor on VRQOL is visual acuity. In order to maintain good VRQOL, a strong prioritization of the preservation of VA was suggested. Compared to the visual acuity (VA) of the worse eye, the VA of the better eye was much more influential in the moderate and severe defect groups. In advanced glaucoma, the effect of VA on VRQOL was more prominent.
