Factors associated with measles transmission in the United States during the postelimination era
JAMA Nov 26, 2019
Gastañaduy PA, Funk S, Lopman BA, et al. - In this cross-sectional study carried out from January 1, 2001, to December 31, 2017, in the United States among US residents and international visitors with a verified diagnosis of measles, experts determined the factors related to measles transmission in the United States following measles had been eliminated. A total of 2,218 people with confirmed measles cases (1,025 female, 1,176 male, and 17 sex not reported) reported from 2001 to 2017 were assessed. The findings of this study encourage to have high targets for 2-dose measles vaccine coverage, especially among school-aged children in the United States.
