Tung M, et al. - A systematic review was conducted to assess the determinants of imaging overuse in the Emergency Departments (ED). Researchers observed heterogeneity of the literature, there were only a few studies of determinants of imaging in minor head injury or of spine imaging. ED imaging overuse was most consistently observed with older patient age and higher Injury Severity Scores. This review underscored the necessity for precise definitions of overuse of imaging in the ED.
