Factors associated with hospitalization in bronchiectasis exacerbations: A one-year follow-up study

Menendez R, et al. - This study assessed determinants of hospitalization ascribed to bronchiectasis (BE)-associated exacerbations. Development of exacerbations requiring hospitalization was found to be associated with certain factors such as previous hospitalization, use of proton pump inhibitors, heart failure along with Bronchiectasis Severity Index (BSI) or FACED scores. Notably, a protective impact of Pneumococcal vaccination was evident.
