Factors associated with early graft detachment in primary Descemet membrane endothelial keratoplasty

American Journal of Ophthalmology Jan 18, 2018

Leon P, et al. - Researchers undertook an inspection of the risk factors for early graft detachment in Descemet membrane endothelial keratoplasty (DMEK). With regard to early graft detachment, cataract removal at the time of DMEK was discovered to be a risk factor. Hence, preference could be given to sequential surgery over combined surgery in order to minimize re-bubbling. Findings recommended monitoring of air level in the anterior chamber, which ought to be maintained above 75% in the early hours following surgery.
