Hinchcliff E, et al. - This work was planned to assess clinical and non-clinical factors associated with utilization of primary cytoreductive surgery or neoadjuvant chemotherapy in women with advanced stage epithelial ovarian cancer. Researchers observed an association of neoadjuvant chemotherapy with race, income level, center volume, and insurance. In this study, non-clinical factors were associated with treatment at a magnitude similar to clinical factors. On excluding women who received no surgery, race remained no longer predictive.
