Ding Y, et al. - Researchers performed this review of chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients who underwent parathyroidectomy (PTX) to identify clinical factors to define postoperative calcium requirements in these subjects. In patients with CKD5 undergoing PTX, there was a significant association of preoperative alkaline phosphatase (ALP) levels with calcium requirement, in the context of a high dCa (1.75 mmol/l) and a stable dose of calcitriol.
