Huh K, et al. - Researchers performed three serial telephone interview surveys in 2010, 2012, and 2015, to evaluate the effects of demographic and perceptive factors on the knowledge, perception, and behavior regarding antibiotic use in the general public. Analyzing 3013 respondent participants, researchers noted that better knowledge was associated with age < 60 years, college education, healthcare-related occupation or education, and media exposure. In contrast, correct antibiotic use behavior was noted to be associated with male sex, older age, and being married, along with better knowledge. Multifaceted analysis revealed that in all subgroups, better knowledge was associated with correct behavior. Other demographic factors were associated only in respondents with poor knowledge.
