Blioskas S, et al. - The potential risk factors, concerning the effectiveness of adenoidectomy in the treatment of chronic otitis media with effusion in children, were evaluated herein. Findings suggested that in the treatment of chronic otitis media with effusion in children, adenoidectomy remained a cornerstone. Important drawbacks could be young age, the presence of allergy predisposition, otologic family history and small palatal airway. During treatment planning, these drawbacks ought to be intensively sought for and taken into account.
