Fujiwara K, et al. - Factors affecting the effect of physical rehabilitation therapy for synkinesis as a sequela to facial nerve palsy were examined in this study. Among female and younger patients with facial nerve palsy, physical rehabilitation was shown to prevent significant deterioration in synkinesis. With regard to synkinesis, careful follow-up was needed in cases in which the facial nerve damage was thought to be severe.
