Asan A, et al. - In this study, the seroprevalence of hepatitis B virus (HBV) and hepatitis C virus (HCV) infections was determined in patients on dialysis, and factors affecting inadequate response to HBV vaccine were also assessed in these patients. Among hemodialysis patients, a reduced response to hepatitis B vaccination was seen in the presence of following factors: hepatitis C infection, obesity, being elderly, and having long hemodialysis period.
