Chadi SA, et al. - The researchers did an individual participant data meta-analysis to investigate the factors influencing the occurrence of local regrowth in cases with rectal cancer who achieved a clinical complete response after neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy. The participants were kept on watch and wait strategy with the potential to avoid major surgery. In this study, increasing local regrowth was prophesied in cT stage in subjects with rectal cancer and clinical complete response after chemoradiotherapy managed by watch and wait. In this investigation, these data implicated the clinician-patient decision making.
