Extraskeletal osteosarcoma: Outcomes and the role of chemotherapy
American Journal of Clinical Oncology Aug 29, 2018
Paludo J, et al. - In patients with extraskeletal osteosarcoma (EO), authors assessed the effect of chemotherapy on survival. When platinum-based chemotherapy is used in the management of patients with EO, a clinical benefit was suggested. The platinum and nonplatinum group had similar baseline characteristics. In patients who received chemotherapy, vs the nonplatinum-based group, relapse/recurrence rate was lower in the platinum-based group. The platinum-containing regimens had an overall response rate of 27% in the neoadjuvant setting.
