External validation of a tool predicting 7-year risk of developing cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes or chronic kidney disease
Journal of General Internal Medicine Dec 15, 2017
Rauh SP, et al. - Researchers resolved to validate a previously developed non-invasive risk prediction tool for speculating the combined 7-year-risk for chronic cardiometabolic diseases. A robust discriminative performance was illustrated via validation of previously developed tool across populations. The results recommended model recalibration to account for different disease rates. This risk prediction tool could be beneficial in large-scale prevention programs. It would aid in detecting those in need of further risk profiling because of their increased risk for chronic cardiometabolic diseases.
