External validation of a nomogram for the prediction of 10-year life expectancy in candidates for radical prostatectomy
World Journal of Urology Mar 07, 2019
Knipper S, et al. - A total of 597 subjects (median age 64 years) were evaluated to examine the performance of a nomogram for the prediction of 10-year life expectancy in individuals with prostate cancer (PCa). Authors calculated the prediction of 10-year life expectancy as per the nomogram and then compared it to actual survival data. They observed a median Charlson Comorbidity Index of value 0 (range 0–10). They recorded the death of 134 patients due to causes other than PCa at 10 years. They noted a moderate performance accuracy of this prediction model and underestimated the 10-year life expectancy of current PCa cases.
