External beam radiation therapy for resectable soft tissue sarcoma: A systematic review and meta-analysis

Albertsmeier M, et al. - Researchers sought to determine the role of preoperative and postoperative external beam radiation therapy (EBRT) in the treatment of resectable soft tissue sarcomas (STSs) of different tumor locations. For local tumor control, findings supported the use of EBRT in patients with resectable STSs. Evidence from a small number of non-randomized studies suggested a positive effect on overall survival (OS) in the subgroup of retroperitoneal STSs.
