Exploring the relationship between nonalcoholic fatty liver disease and pancreatic cancer by computed tomographic survey
Internal and Emergency Medicine Dec 16, 2017
Chang CF, et al. - Researchers ascertained if nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) served as a risk factor and a prognostic factor for pancreatic cancer. A positive connection was disclosed between NAFLD with pancreatic cancer. This finding indicated that NAFLD could raise the incidence and risk of pancreatic cancer. When compared to patients without NAFLD, patients with pancreatic cancer and NAFLD reported poorer overall survival. This was possibly attributed to the fact that dysregulated cytokine status caused the progression of pancreatic cancer. It was noted that NAFLD could present as a prognostic factor for pancreatic cancer.
