Exploring the relationship between motor impairment, vascular burden and cognition in Parkinson's disease
Journal of Neurology Mar 29, 2018
Stojkovic T, et al. - The intention of the experts was to investigate the frequency and type of cognitive disorders in the cross-sectional analysis of a Parkinson’s disease (PD) cohort. Researchers also sought to examine its correlation with motor symptoms, modifiable vascular risk factors and white matter lesions (WML) volume. Findings brought to light a connection between cognitive disorders in PD with more severe, predominantly axial motor deficits and increased, but a partly modifiable vascular burden. Hence, yielded data aided in the development of preventive strategies in PD.
