Exploratory study of geometric distortion correction of prostate diffusion-weighted imaging using B0 map acquisition
Journal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Apr 21, 2019
Tong A, et al. - In this retrospective case study, researchers compared geometric distortion on prostate MRI between standard diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) and a geometric distortion correction method for DWI described as static distortion correction DWI (SDC DWI). The study sample consisted of 30 patients (ages 31–81 years) undergoing prostate MRI. Compared to standard DWI with T2-weighted imaging (T2WI), there was a significantly greater overlap of the SDC DWI prostate region of interest with T2WI. According to findings, SDC DWI seems to correct for susceptibility-related pixel shifts in the prostate vs standard DWI, which might have value for evaluating prostate lesions obscured by geometric warping.
