Exploration of the inter-relationships between obesity, physical inactivity, inflammation, and low back pain
Spine Aug 22, 2018
Hashem LE, et al. - In patients with chronic non-specific low back pain (CNSLBP), authors sought to elucidate markers of systemic inflammation. In the pathogenesis of CNSLBP, systemic inflammation may act as a mediator for physical inactivity and obesity. Significantly higher erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) was seen in physically inactive patients and females. Significant relationships between physical inactivity and markers of systemic inflammation, and between elevated C-reactive protein (CRP) and CNSLBP were indicated by the adjusted analyses.
