Conley SL, et al. - In this study, experts sought to modify dysfunctional interpretations in individuals with contamination concerns. Furthermore, they investigated the effect of the modification on both interpretation bias and performance on a behavioral approach task. For reducing dysfunctional interpretations relevant to naturally-occurring contamination concerns, completion of the Cognitive Bias Modification training for interpretations was beneficial. Such a reduction could help those individuals approach feared situations.
