McDermott MM - An overview of evidence had been provided regarding exercise therapies for patients with lower extremity peripheral artery disease (PAD). Researchers observed a significant improvement in treadmill walking performance with supervised treadmill exercise in these individuals by approximately 180 meters compared with no exercise. Recent evidence suggested that home-based exercise was also effective and preferentially improved over-ground walking performance, such as the 6-minute walk test.
