Exercise-induced hypoalgesia in healthy individuals and people with chronic musculoskeletal pain: A systematic review and meta-analysis
The Journal of Pain Jul 27, 2020
Wewege MA, et al. - Via performing meta-analysis, researchers here examined the effect of a single bout of exercise on experimental pain. They screened 5,829 records published between 1980 and January 2020; of these, 13 studies were ultimately included. The low-quality data obtained from small samples suggest that in healthy individuals, a single bout of aerobic exercise reduces experimental pain. No clear evidence was generated for people with chronic musculoskeletal pain.
