Öberg A, et al. – Researchers performed a symptom–limited incremental cycle ergometer test in 17 young adults treated with hematopoietic cell transplantation and total body irradiation for hematological malignancies during childhood. Findings revealed markedly reduced exercise capacity among long–term survivors in comparison to healthy individuals. Together with their altered body composition, this could predispose them to cardiovascular disease.
