Guclu M, et al. - The long-term effects of exenatide treatment was investigated on serum fasting ghrelin levels in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. The clinicians proposed that the effects of exenatide on weight loss could be associated with the suppression of serum fasting ghrelin levels, which was an orexigenic peptide.
