Executive control development in Tourette syndrome and its role in tic reduction

Yaniv A, et al. - The development of executive functions system measured by well-established cognitive tasks was tracked. In addition, the authors aimed to investigate its relationship with diminished tic severity over time in order to understand the role of executive functions in the remission process observed in most adults. The obtained data indicated that in subjects suffering from Tourette syndrome (TS), inhibition, an important executive function, was impaired and that intact executive function development was associated with remission processes.
