Haynes–Maslow L, et al. – Study authors carried out this investigation to explore the association between the prevalence of adult diabetes and food access in the U.S. by county economic/racial composition. They suggested that the food environment was more strongly correlated with diabetes prevalence for wealthier counties with a lower proportion of minority residents. Availability of healthier food might not be enough to change health outcomes.
