Chibbaro S, et al. - This study aimed at determining the safety and efficacy of two different venous thromboembolism (VT) prophylaxis protocols implemented in a European neurosurgical centre. Findings suggested that perioperative intermittent pneumatic compression (IPC) devices are a non-negligible support in the prophylaxis of clinically symptomatic deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE).
