Donà MG, et al. – The scientists examined the performance of the Xpert HPV assay (Cepheid) on crude lysates from oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) formalin–fixed paraffin–embedded (FFPE) tissues. In investigations, the Xpert HPV assay appeared to be a very good method for HPV detection and genotyping on FFPE OPSCCs, and required no prior purification of nucleic acids. In addition, this approach offered a very good agreement with INNO–LiPA and p16 findings.
