Evaluation of the Obstetric Quality-of-Recovery Score (ObsQoR-11) following non-elective caesarean delivery
International Journal of Obstetric Anesthesia Feb 06, 2019
Ciechanowicz S, et al. - Researchers assessed the validity as well as the reliability of a new obstetric quality of recovery score (ObsQoR-11), initially formulated for elective caesarean delivery (CD), following non-elective CD. After non-elective CD, 100 women completed ObsQoR-11 questionnaires at 24 h and 20 women repeated it at 25 h. They evaluated correlation of ObsQoR-11 with a 100 mm numerical rating scale (NRS) of general health status to determine convergent validity. For discriminant validity, the correlation with good vs poor recovery (NRS of ≥70 vs <70 mm, respectively) was assessed. Content validity was assessed by analyzing the correlation with length of stay (LOS), CD category, parity, gestation, previous CD, duration, blood loss, haemoglobin, age and body mass index. Reliability and feasibility were also assessed. A strong correlation of ObsQoR-11 with NRS was noted and ObsQoR-11 showed a good discriminative ability to differentiate between good vs poor recovery. ObsQoR-11 also showed correlation to LOS and parity. Findings highlighted validity as well as the reliability of ObsQoR-11 in assessing recovery after non-elective CD.
