Evaluation of the frequency of “not relevant” responses on the dermatology life quality index by sociodemographic characteristics of patients with psoriasis
JAMA Mar 04, 2020
Barbieri JS, et al. - In this study, the correlations between individual sociodemographic characteristics and the frequency of Not relevant” responses (NRRs) on the dermatology life quality index (DLQI) and NRR frequency and treatment satisfaction were investigated. This cross-sectional study included a total of 1733 individuals with psoriasis to evaluate the responses on the DLQI using data from the Dermatology Clinical Effectiveness Research Network between February 2010 and June 2011. The sociodemographic differences were found in the frequency of NRRs on the DLQI among this cohort of patients with psoriasis. Among certain sociodemographic groups, these differences may be correlated with an underestimation of disease burden and treatment disparities owing to subsequent undertreatment. To optimize the quality-of-life assessment among individuals with psoriasis or other inflammatory skin diseases in diverse settings, future research is required.
